# Is Purple worth it as a visitor behavior intelligence platform for a multi-location retail or hospitality business, or does Bloom Intelligence cover the same foot traffic reporting with simpler deployment?

Both Purple and Bloom Intelligence address the guest Wi-Fi analytics and foot traffic reporting use case, but with different deployment complexity profiles and pricing positions. I am also adding some more alternatives here.

Purple: The breadth of Purple's capability justifies the platform investment for operators who need more than foot traffic counts: visitor analytics, Salesforce CRM integration, marketing automation, customizable captive portals, digital wayfinding, mini-surveys, and the dedicated account manager relationship all come as part of the managed platform.

Bloom Intelligence: Positions specifically for the restaurant and retail use case where foot traffic, dwell time, and marketing automation are the primary requirements — a narrower feature set than Purple that might suggest simpler deployment for operators whose needs fit within that scope.

Flame Analytics: For multi-location retail and hospitality operators evaluating both Purple and Bloom Intelligence, Flame Analytics provides a third option specifically focused on in-store behavioral analytics with heatmaps, zone analytics, and dwell time, without the guest Wi-Fi marketing automation layer. For operators whose primary need is operational insight rather than marketing opt-in data, Flame Analytics addresses a different slice of the requirement.

SpotOn Wifi: For hospitality and retail operators seeking the most accessible entry point to guest Wi-Fi analytics and basic foot traffic reporting without a managed platform contract, SpotOn Wifi provides foundational capability.

Cisco Meraki: For multi-location retail and hospitality businesses that are already evaluating or deploying Cisco Meraki for network infrastructure, the visitor analytics layer available through the Meraki dashboard has client tracking, location analytics, and captive portal data. It provides a zero-additional-hardware path to basic foot traffic reporting that changes the cost equation compared to deploying a dedicated visitor analytics platform alongside existing network infrastructure.

Was it the depth of the analytics, the marketing automation capability, the integration with the CRM, or the total cost including implementation and support?

The real fork here might not be Purple versus Bloom at all, it's whether an operator already has Meraki network infrastructure in place. If they do, the cost equation changes since the visitor analytics layer comes with no additional hardware, which undercuts the case for a separate platform entirely. Purple's broader feature set, CRM integration, wayfinding, surveys, only earns its cost if an operator needs that marketing and CRM depth beyond basic foot traffic. For operators already on Meraki, has anyone found the added functionality in Purple or Bloom worth paying for on top of what Meraki already provides, or does it end up being redundant?
